Ben Affleck as Batman

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice might not have been that grand a success at the box-office as was expected and Warner Bros might still be reeling under its effect, what did click with the audience was Ben Affleck's portrayal of the Bat-hero.

The Batman v Superman effectively introduced the DC Extended Universe to the fans and laid the seeds for a potential Batman standalone movie. Warner Bros was quick to make use of the opportunity and they announced a solo Batman movie directed by and starring Affleck during the CinemaCon. What followed next was a bout of speculations regarding the plot for the new Batman movie, scripted by Affleck along with DC Comics boss Geoff Johns.

According to the movie website Birth.Movies.Death, Affleck-Johns co-scripted Batman reboot will feature an entire host of badass villains to create "the definitive Batman film". If the website's report is to be believed, Batman makers want to sweep the audience off their feet with the "ultimate Batman story" and in order to do that they will be bringing in all the "big guns" or the iconic villains from the past. Though chances are with the entire Batman rogue's gallery introduced, most characters will appear in cameos.

However, this is not the first instance that a Batman movie is integrating a bunch of characters in a single plot — Zack Snyder-scripted Batman v Superman took the same route but only to open to moderate success. Perhaps Warner Bros' trump card with the yet-untitled Batman movie is Affleck's genius that has already garnered two major Oscars — for Good Will Hunting and Argo — for him.

The new Batman movie won't be a complete surprise to the audience as the superhero has already secured his grounds in the Batman v Superman movie and will also feature in the upcoming Suicide Squad and Justice League: Part 1 and 2. Though the scripting is already in motion, a release date for the solo Batman movie is yet to be announced.
