5 reasons Bipasha Basu is the coolest Bong bride ever!

Well, Bollywood diva Bipasha Basu just got married to Indian television’s handsomest bachelor Karan Singh Grover and we can’t get over the beauty we have witnessed in these last few days, courtesy the Bengali beauty. Always known for her exquisite looks, Bips might be lying low professionally but the actress slayed all the competition on her D-Day by donning the avatar of a modern Indian bride.
Far from shy, Bipasha rocked the red carpet rolled for the usually coy brides. Breaking into bhangra beats, the dusky beauty made her way to the wedding hall knowingly oblivious of the prying eyes set upon her.
And, that’s how she impressed us by becoming the coolest Bong bride in the history of Bollywood.
We spoke with Mumbai based celeb stylist Ayesha Sanghi to decode what made Bipasha a swagger of a bride and here’s what the stylist had to say.

1. Acting princess - While her big red bindi, authentic red and white chandan porano (alternate bindis on the forehead) and red-gold traditional attire made her look a bride straight out of the alleys of Kolkata, it was her modern swag which made Bipasha stand out from her Bollywood contemporaries. “Bipasha always dresses to perfection, but on her D-Day, she stood out thanks to her happy princess like poise,” says Ayesha.

2. Dancing bride - When was the last time you saw a Bengali bride dancing in her baraat, that too a Bollywood actress who’s supposed to act pretty all the time? Well, Bipasha just broke away from the shackles of Bollywood conformity and became a dancing bride and we loved every bit of it.

3. Perfect styling - According to Ayesha, a lot of the credit for Bipasha’s comfortable demeanor goes to her stylist Shyamli Arora, who did complete justice in styling the actress in sync to her personality, which is fun and casual.

4. Giggling through shubho drishti - Bipasha smiled throughout the shubho drisht custom (where the bride covers her face with a betel leaf and is carried by her brothers on a wooden plank and the groom sees her for the first time) and the wedding guests couldn’t take their eyes off the magnificence of her face.

5. Bipasha gave us nothing but wedding goals - Clearly besotted by beau Karan, Bipasha’s monkey wedding left a lot of us itching to take the plunge. Who said getting married was a big deal, not Bipasha, at least.
