UP forest dept alerted on Uttarakhand fire

Bijnore, May 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh forest department has issued high alert on the UP- Uttarakhand border, following wide range forest fire that has engulfed around 3,000 hectares of forest in the hill state during the past three months.
There is also an apprehension of wild animals straying into UP from the Uttarakhand forest due to the ranging fire. The UP forest department officials did not rule out that animals from the forest may enter residential areas in search of water and food.
The forest officials in Bijnore have already started taking precautionary measures, after a part of the forests in the district have already been burnt down in fires.
