Love me like you do, Karan tells Bips
Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu tied the knot in a traditional Bengali ceremony on Saturday. Leaving the ghodi behind, the groom made a stylish entry on a golden Segway at around 7 pm. Dressed in the traditional Bengali attire, the couple looked picture perfect.

The couple’s stylist, Shyamli Arora, told Mirror that Bipasha chose to wear a lehenga by Sabyasachi, with traditional Punjabi chooda, while Karan opted for a bandhgala and a dhoti designed by her, with the topar (a Bengali groom’s headgear).

“We stuck to colours that are considered auspicious. For the reception Bipasha wanted something glam so we went with ivory and gold. Sabya came up with the idea of a gown since it’s easy to carry, Karan just wanted a classic white tuxedo and went for a Narendra Kumar,” she informs.

The highlight of the evening was Karan’s performance. He sang with a band called The Other People and the romantic tracks included “Love me like you do” by Ellie Goulding, “Sugar” by Maroon 5 and “Cecelia” by Simon & Garfunkel.

The new bride enthusiastically cheered him on and then joined him for the seductive “Katra Katra” from their film Alone. Karan also danced with Bipasha’s family to Pharell Williams’s “Happy”. Keeping with the theme of ‘Monkey wedding’, the couple also cut a cake with monkeys on it.

While the wedding and the ceremonies preceding it were family and select friends’ affair, the reception was a star-studded bash. There were the Bachchans— Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya—and the Khans—Salman and Shah Rukh. There was also her ex, Dino Morea, Bachna Ae Haseenon costar Ranbir Kapoor, buddy Tabu, Preity Zinta minus her Goodenough hubby, Sushmita Sen looking dazzling as ever, the regal Dia Mirza, and hifashion priestess Sonam Kapoor. Salman was among the last to arrive.

When he was quizzed about his own marriage plans, Bips came to his rescue saying that his shaadi would break many hearts so he should remain single.

“Salman attended my wedding and that’s my biggest wish fulfilled,” she dimpled. Shah Rukh Khan, who was chatting with Preity Zinta, waited for around 45 minutes for Salman. They were inseparable and even left together. Doting husband Riteish Deshmukh was spotted feeding his heavily pregnant wife Genelia. Awwww!
