FIR against inspector for stalking woman

NEW DELHI: The count of policemen in the dock has reached 20 within just one month with the latest being an inspector accused of stalking a woman. An FIR has been registered against him and the matter is being investigated by the cyber cell of the economic offences wing. However, the policemen has not yet been arrested.
Sources said the incident came to the fore after a woman accused the cop of sending him obscene messages through WhatsApp.Special commissioner (crime) and police spokesperson Taj Hasan refused to comment on the matter.
A few days ago, the SHO of Sonia Vihar in northeast Delhi was found colluding with land sharks and suspended, sources said. The vigilance department is conducting an inquiry against him.
In north district, seven cops were suspended on administrative grounds. The department took objections to the conduct of AATS inspector Shailendra Tomar handling the ‘meow meow’ drug racket busted last year involving Delhi University students. The other four policemen were suspended for their inaction against an illicit liquor racket active in Madrasi Colony in Kotwali area.
Two PCR personnel, head constable Pappu Ram Meena and constable Rupender Singh, were suspended for extorting money from the driver of a pick-up van in south Delhi’s RK Puram. The driver, Dhanshiram (30), a resident of Alwar, reached RK Puram around 9pm. A PCR van stopped his vehicle on Benito Juarez Road and the cops asked him for Rs 1,000. When he refused to pay, they abused him and beat up two other occupants of the pick-up van. The cops left after taking Rs 3,000 from them.
The trio then called the police control room after which they were taken to RK Puram police station by other cops and their complaint was registered.
