'Dalit' minor girl gang-raped by four goons in Kanpur Dehat district

Kanpur: A `dalit' minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by four village goons in Kanpur Dehat district.
The incident, which took place late on Friday night, came to light on Sunday after the girl's parents lodged a complaint with the local police. "The girl was sleeping on the roof-top of her house when she was allegedly abducted by four village hoodlums, who took her to a nearby water-pump where they raped her," the police said.
The girl has been admitted to district hospital on Sunday and is under observation, a police official said.
Though a case has been lodged at Baraur Police Station, the four gangrape accused are still absconding, a police official said. "A case under various sections including 376 of IPC and POCSO act has been registered. Search is on to trace the four who are absconding right after the incident. We have passed the information about them to neighboring areas," ASP Rishipal Yadav said.
