A new multi-million pound bus station with 14 stands has opened in Blackburn town centre.

There had been significant delays to the £5m project after the main contractors were sacked last year, amid claims the design was not safe.

Funding came from the £40m Pennine Reach programme aimed at improving public transport between Blackburn and Accrington.

A temporary bus station had been used in Ainsworth Street.
