HRD ministry taking directions from Nagpur to communalise society, alleges CITU

Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) Alleging that the Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry is taking directions from Nagpur to propagate right-wing ideology in education institutions, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) National Secretary K Hemlata said the government is trying to divide and communalize society and impose anti-reactionary ideology on the people.
“HRD ministry has been receiving directions from Nagpur and RSS. Take the example of Hyderabad University, where it all started, the BJP said that anti-national elements are working and then BJP MP and Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya wrote a letter to HRD ministry. The initial enquiry gave a clean chit to the students saying that they don’t have any kind of proof against the students. But later the university administration was pressured following which they suspended those students from college hostel and harassed them, led lead to Rohith Vmula suicide,” Ms Hemlata told UNI.
Alleging that anyone who don’t agree with the ideology of RSS and BJP is branded ant-national, she said, “In the case of JNU, some students wanted to organize some event, one many not agree with their idea, but as a president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union, Kanhaiya Kumar defended their right of free speech. But then sedation charges were put on him and his other fellow students and they were branded as anti-national.”
