Cong men detained for burning PM's effigy
Vadodara: Five Congress workers were detained by Raopura police for burning effigy of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi outside Vadodara district collectorate on Saturday. The workers were holding a protest demanding a Supreme Court monitored probe into the Rs 20,000 crore scam in Krishna-Godavari basin involving Modi when he was chief minister of Gujarat.

They alleged that Modi's regime in the state had given Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation's 10 per cent stake amounting to Rs 20,000 crore in KG basin gas field to Geo Global Resources, a multinational company existing on paper, for nothing.
Mitesh Thakur, Narendra Jaiswal, Ashish Mangrol, Tohid Pathan and Hitesh Batra were detained after they held a dharna outside the collector's office.
The workers were later released by the police.
