Chandigarh: The revised fee structure for three-year LLB course at Panjab University (PU) to be implemented for the next academic session will be tabled in the syndicate meeting scheduled to be held on Sunday.
If approved by syndicate and then forwarded to senate, the fee the course will be increased from the existing Rs 1,050 per annum to Rs 3,175 per annum.
The proposed fee for the 2016-17 academic session of the course also includes Rs 1,000 as convocation fee at the entry level.
In the proposed fee structure, the library and reading room fee has been increased from Rs 480 per annum to Rs 600 per annum. Moreover, the dinner and social function fee has been increased from Rs 180 per annum to Rs 500 per annum.
The chairperson department of laws had forwarded the revised fee structure by joint academic and administrative committee of the department to be taken up by senate and syndicate, the two governing bodies of the Panjab University.
As the admission process has already started at Panjab University, the entrance test for three-year LLB course will be held on June 19. The result of the entrance test will be declared between June 27 and June 30. The prospectus available online mentions that the course fee for the next academic session is Rs 1,100 for general category and Rs 550 for SC/ST/ blind category.
