Papiss Cisse is a £6million target for Chinese clubs as he heads into the final year of his contract at Newcastle .

The Senegal striker, 30, only has 12 months left on his contract and clubs in the Far East are on alert, reports the Sunday People.

Cisse, plagued by knee trouble in recent seasons, is enjoying a career revival since Rafa Benitez replaced Steve McClaren as Toon boss in March.

Proof of that was Cisse’s admission that Newcastle players would “run through a brick wall” for Benitez.

But it could be the Great Wall of China looming for Cisse, who has already been offered the chance to play there.

In January 2015, he was offered a three-year deal worth a huge £23m – around £150,000-a-week – by Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Shanghai SIPG.

Former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew signed Cisse from German side Freiburg in January 2012 for £9.5m.
