Gauthami Nair to play a naadan girl

Her film's hero is Sudev Nair
Gauthami Nair to play a naadan girl

Her conventional 'Tamil Ponnu' act in Diamond Necklace had won Gauthami Nair several accolades, and the actress is all set to try something on those lines, yet again.
Gauthami, who was last seen in Koothara, will play a naadan Brahmin girl in her next movie with Sudev Nair, which is tentatively titled 'Campus Diary'. 'Yes, I am playing Sudev's heroine and my character is named Krishnapriya,' says Gauthami, and adds, 'She is a Brahmin girl, who is into politics.
Unlike the rest of her peers, she holds on to her tradition.' Look-wise, Gauthami will be donning conventional naadan costumes for her character. 'For the role, I am making a conscious effort to not be my real-life modern self,' the actress says. What mainly attracted Gauthami to the movie is its brilliant casting, she confesses. 'It has Sudev, a State Award winner, National Award winner Mustafa (Ain fame), Joy Mathew, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sunil Sukhada and Marimaayam Sreekumar,' she says.
It's apparently her first time working with Sudev, and the young actress is all thrilled about it. 'Sudev being someone who has studied in Pune Film Institute, we get a lot of fresh perspectives and quality inputs about acting from him. During breaks, we get to know from him how actors are trained there. Not everyone gets a chance to study in a film institute,' she says.
She did her last film two years ago. But ask her if this is her comeback project and the actress says, 'I didn't go anywhere to come back (laughs). I got many good offers but I was busy with my graduation exams and could not take up any of them. I have now completed my graduation in psychology and am doing my masters in the subject now.'
