Chennai: At a public reception organised by the Church of South India (CSI) Diocese of Madras on Friday, Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, praised the Christian community for its contribution to society especially in the field of education, hospitals, orphanages, mercy homes among others. The event was held at St George's Cathedral in the city to felicitate the newly Consecrated Bishop Rt Rev Dr Jeyaraj George Stephan.
He expressed hope that the tenure of Bishop Dr Stephan would help strengthen ties and pave the way for better understanding among people and religious communities in India, specifically between Christianity and Islam.
