AirAsia flight cancelled, 100 stranded

As many as 100 passengers who were to travel on an AirAsia flight from Chennai to Kuala Lampur were stranded at the city airport on Saturday night as the airline cancelled the flight scheduled at 11.45 pm.

Chennai: As many as 100 passengers who were to travel on an AirAsia flight from Chennai to Kuala Lampur were stranded at the city airport on Saturday night as the airline cancelled the flight scheduled at 11.45 pm.
A few of the passengers were also from other cities and the sudden cancellation has caused inconvenience.
The airline did not offer accommodation or immediate refund.
Reena Popli from Delhi, said there was no SMS or any communication regarding the cancellation.
"I reached Chennai around 7.30 pm to board the international flight. I have spent a lot to plan the trip. Hotel reservations and other bookings in Kuala Lumpur will now go waste. The airline staff said passengers would be accommodated on the next flight based on availability," she said.
An airport official said, "The flight has been cancelled. There is no information on the reason."
