5 day training to BMOs of HP

Kangra, Apr 30 (UNI) With the goal of “Universal Access” to quality TB diagnosis and treatment with quality assured drugs free of cost to all TB patients including those of Drug Resistant, HIV and other co-morbidity associated TB, the TB units have been decentralized to Block Level in the state and aligned with National Health mission Blocks.
Dr BB Katoch Principal of Regional Health and Family Welfare Training centre here today said this on the concluding day of the five day capacity building training on Revised National TB Control training program of Block Medical Officers (BMOs). He said that to cope with the new responsibility 26 BMOs from eleven districts of Kangra, Hamirpur, Shimla, Solan, Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Sirmaur, Una, Chamba, Kullu and Mandi districts participated in this five day training.
Despite of available effective treatment, 1.5 million deaths occur globally every year and tuberculosis remains curse to humanity causing vast socio economic loss mostly in developing countries, he said. He
