Six more caught for double murder at Sarkhej

One of the accused, Nanu Bharwad, was caught near Suigam in Banaskantha district on April 23 after which police had got tip-off on the prime accused that they were taking shelter at relatives' residence near Dholka.

AHMEDABAD: A team of Sarkhej police caught six accused, wanted in connection with murder of two men at Sarkhej Okaf on April 21. The duo was killed over a land dispute. Police have earlier caught five persons, taking the total tally to 11.
Police said that all six were caught from different locations in past two days on the basis of information as they had fled from the city after committing the crime.

According to Sarkhej police, the accused have been identified as Atul Bharwad, Bharat Thakor, Pintu Thakor, Dilip Thakor, Waghji Thakor and Ashok Thakor, all residents of Sarkhej.
On April 21, a group led by Hari Bharwad and his son Navin - residents of Bharwadvaas, Sarkhej - stormed a barricaded plot at Sarkhej-Okaf belonging to Zeeshan Bukhari. The group allegedly abducted Tausif Ahmed and Mohammad Zaheer, Bukhari's brother and nephew, and beat them to death. Considering the gravity of the case, the investigation was handed over to ACP M Division.

"On April 25, police caught Navin Bharwad and his father Hari from an eatery near Shantipura circle. Two others - Laghra and Samat Bharwad, all residents of Sarkhej, were also caught along with them," said an official.
