Allegations against Sonia Gandhi politically motivated: Poojari
MANGALURU: Veteran Congress leader and former Union minister B Janardhan Poojary said here on Saturday that the allegations made against party chief Sonia Gandhi in connection with the Agusta Westland deal are politically motivated.
He told reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making veiled attack on Sonia Gandhi using Subramanian Swamy. “Modi has no courage to make accusation against Sonia Gandhi.
It was the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who cancelled the Augusta Westland deal when scam was initially brought to light. The current accusations are leveled only for political gains in the wake of elections in few states,” Poojari said.
He dared BJP government at the centre to conduct a fair investigation into Augusta Westland deal and bring truth to light. “Let the Prime Minister order an investigation into the deal,” Poojari demanded.
Talking about current water crisis in Karnataka, Poojari lashed out at minister for rural development and panchayati raj H K Patil. Poojary said, “let the minister tender resignation, if he is not capable of solving drinking water crisis in the state.”
