Anybody familiar with the "Harry Potter" movies is sure to recognize Josh Herdman, who played one of Draco Malfoy's main henchman, Gregory Goyle, in all eight of J.K. Rowling's series-turned film adaptations starting in 2001.

But now Herdman is putting down his wand and picking up a pair of gloves as he embarks on a career as a mixed martial artist.

The 28-year old actor, who recently started pursuing a career in MMA after training in his home country of England, is serious about his new career as a fighter and it appears like he's got a promising future.

Herdman made his amateur career debut on a show called "Rise of Champions" with a hard fought victory over Janusz Walachowski.

And while Herdman says he is still pursuing roles as an actor, he's fallen in love with MMA and plans to do more of it in the future.

Now the ultimate moment would be Herdman fighting at Alnwick Castle, which was the real life site that served as the backdrop for Hogwarts in the "Harry Potter" movie series.

Considering the Duchess of Northumberland has already signed off on the idea, it's actually possible it could happen.
