BJP leaders not running, patronising drug trade in Phagwara: SP

Phagwara, Apr 30 (UNI) Strongly denying the allegations of District BJP Secretary Gurdeep Singh Deepa that few BJP leaders were running and patronising drug trade in Phagwara, Superintendent of Police Ashwini Kumar today disclosed that he himself called Deepa and asked him to disclose the names of those BJP leaders, who were involved in drug trade, but the Minister could not reply satisfactorily.
Phagwara police is working strictly according to law without any political pressure, the SP asserted.
Police has registered 34 cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 39 drug peddlers during the first four months of 2016 in Phagwara Sub-Division, Mr Kumar told reporters during a press conference.
