Introducing Emily Wurramara

A rising talent, Emily Wurramara is - at 20 - a fairly experienced singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist – she’s been at it since she was six.

Around that time, her parents moved from the Top End to Brisbane.

And that decision to move thousands of kilometres away was crucial to the development of her songwriting.

Her debut single Ngerraberrakernama (Wake Up) is sung in both English and Anindilyakwa, the language spoken on her homeland - Bickerton Island in eastern Arnhem Land.
