Raghuji, Youth Club spikers begin with wins in District Volleyball tournament

NAGPUR: Raghuji Nagar Krida Mandal, Katol-based Youth Club and Kolbaswami Club, Dhapewada started their campaign on a rousing note in the Nagpur District U-14 Volleyball tournament at the Samarth Vyayam Shala courts here on Friday.
Nikhil Bhasme performed well to help Youth Club trounce RS Mundle School 25-7, 25-6. For RS Mundle School, Aryan Ekbote waged a lone battle.
Raghuji Nagar KM also registered a straight-game victory over Abhyuday Krida Mandal 25-8, 25-11.Dhapewada’s Kolbaswami Club downed New English High School 25-7, 25-10.
In the most exciting match on the opening day, Abhyuday Club edged out RS Mundle School 25-22, 25-16 to keep their hopes alive.
In the girls section, Khaparkheda outclassed Sai Ganesh Krida Mandal 25-4, 25-10. Similarly, Abhyuday girls hardly broke any sweat in getting past Universal Sports Club 25-8, 25-11.
Earlier, Nagpur District Volleyball Association president Vijay Dangre, DSO Vijay Santan, Laxmi Nagar zone chairman of NMC Gopal Behare, Samarth Vyayam Shala president Vijay Sunder and secretary Sunil Hande inaugurated the tourney.
