AHMEDABAD: Amid demands of CBI inquiry by the relatives of slain constable Chandrakant Makwana, Joint Commissioner of Police and acting CP JK Bhatt said they will write to the DGP to hand over the probe to any state agency for an independent probe.
“We have nothing to hide and if the relatives of Makwana feel that crime branch should not probe the case, they are ready to hand over the inquiry,” Bhatt said this while addressing media.

It is noteworthy that constable Makwana was brutally murdered in the crime branch premises by a suspect Manish Balai of Rajasthan, who was picked up on the suspicion of being involved in a drug racket.
Later Makwana’s brother Manish raised certain questions about the manner in which his brother was murdered by Balai with an iron rod in the high security crime branch premises.
“There is no way one can escape from the heavily guarded premises. There is something fishy about the murder and the truth will only surface if CBI probes the case” added Manish.
Manish said they are also going to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and Chief Secretary Gangaram Aloria to hand over the case to CBI.
Within hours of the brutal murder head constable Khumansinh Dabhi and SRP Jawan Gajendra Rana were suspended.
On the other hand another suspect in the case Anand Khandelwal still remains at large. All efforts by the crime branch to trace the suspect proved futile as the three teams camping in Jaipur to nab him returned empty handed.
