Owner of house where cop was shot arrested

Greater Noida: The owner of the house where sub-inspector Akhtar Khan was killed in a shootout on April 25 was arrested from Nai Abadi village in Dadri on Monday.
The arrest of Furqan comes a day after police had arrested his wife Anmol and two others - Nanhe Khan and Kasim - for sheltering the two accused.
The police, meanwhile, are conducting a separate investigation into the role of other policemen who accompanied Khan during the raid.

According to police, they had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for any information on Furqan. On Friday morning, they received a tip-off that he was hiding in Dadri. "The police were deployed around the village. They found him near a canal in Nai Abadi village and arrested him," said SP (rural), Abhishek Yadav.
Police said that Furqan said during interrogation that it was Javed's bullet that had killed the 40-year-old sub-inspector. Javed is a hitman for the 'Shaheed' gang in Delhi and was the target of the April 25 raid.

Furqan also confessed to being present in the house at the time of the shootout along with three other men, the cops said. He said they were playing cards when the cops entered the house.
"The door suddenly opened and we found that the house was being raided by police. The policemen opened fire and there was counter firing from our side. One police officer received a gunshot wound and we managed to flee," Furqan told the cops.
A country-made revolver and three live cartridges were seized from Furqan. They are questioning him on the whereabouts of main accused Javed. Sources said that Javed could possibly be hiding in Mewat.
The SP said that four teams are conducting raids in Delhi and UP-NCR. Two surveillance teams, the Special Task Force and Special Operations Group are also working on the case and around a dozen people have been questioned in the case so far.
Despite the arrests, the victim's family continues to demand a CBI probe in the case, saying they have no faith in th UP Police probe.
TOI had reported on April 7 that the standard operating procedure was not followed before the raid on the gangster's hideout in Dadri. Even the district police chief was not kept in the loop.
DIG (Meerut range), Laxmi Singh has formed an independent team under SP (crime) Vishwajeet Srivastava to investigate the role of other cops in the raid, who eyewitnesses said had fled from the spot after Khan was shot.
