A Colorful Family Home in New York City
1/10In the New York City living room of Misti Bridges and Stephen Jordan, designer Rayman Boozer created a rainbow-bright palette of blues and berries. “I think blue is really pretty because it’s the color of the sky, and you see it in nature,” he says. “I wanted to make the home feel like spring and summer with a very friendly color story.” The custom-made Duralee sofa acts as a neutral base for a pair of Crate and Barrel chairs upholstered in a velvet fabric by Designtex; the wall color is Windmill Wings by Benjamin Moore.
2/10“I know how to tell a story with accessories,” says Boozer of the vignettes he created in the living room’s built-in bookcases. “I like that feeling of things being undone, or like something’s about to happen or just happened and you missed it.”
3/10Boozer installed copper pendants by Tom Dixon over the dining room table; an artwork by Gray Malin lines the back wall. The RH chairs are upholstered in a graphic ikat print by Fabricut; the pattern also finds prominence in the Elitis wallpaper in the entry hall.
4/10In the kitchen, Boozer and Bridges kept things white so as not to compete with the rainbow of colors on display in the living area.

5/10A rug from ABC Carpet & Home creates variation in an all-purple den. The chair is by Marni. “I’ve owned it for 11 years and reupholstered it three or four times,” says Bridges.
6/10Daughter Lexi Anne’s bedroom combines a tufted headboard and kelly-green bedside table to add contrast to a white coverlet.

7/10In daughter Carolina’s room, a Worlds Away desk is backed by curtains in a Designer’s Guild fabric. An Eames-inspired chair features a cushion covered in a Schumacher floral print.
8/10“I like beauty, and I like to be surrounded by it,” says Bridges. In the master suite, Boozer replaced lime-green walls with serene blue ones, using the former color as an accent in the throw pillows and duvet cover.

9/10Osborne & Little wallpaper enlivens a vanity in the master bath.
10/10“I’m really picky about wallpaper,” says Bridges. Boozer says he showed her more than 100 varieties before she agreed to the Elitis vinyl covering in the entry. The Jonathan Adler chair was a Christmas gift to Carolina. “It was the only thing she wanted Santa to bring her,” says Bridges.
