Nashik: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Praveen Togadia on Friday launched the ‘India Health Line' (IHL) in Nashik.
The healthline is an initiative of the organisation to connect the medical fraternity with needy and poor patients.
"I was in Nashik to conduct training for the health ambassadors, who have volunteered to work with IHL. They will be given special kits and instruments.
They will conduct the free basic check-up of the poor and refer them to the doctors," said Togadia.
He distributed easy-to-use instruments to measure different health parameters to around 40 ambassadors. They will now conduct free check-ups of poor people on Sundays.
"After the basic check-ups, necessary patients will be referred to well-known doctors who are part of our network. They will provide free services to the poor," Togadia said.
He also launched a mobile app, ‘Blood for India', which has a record of blood donors from across the country. He said, his aim is to make a ‘happy and healthy India'.
'Give time to change traditions'Praveen Togadia said that it takes time to change the age-old traditions and places of worship should be given that time but, added that there should not be gender discrimination at temples.
"Each temple has its own rules which should be respected by devotees. If you want to introduce change, you should give proper time to the management and residents. These changes should come from within; not through court orders or with police protection," he said while commenting on the recent protests at Trimbakeshwar for entry of
women devotees inside the sanctorum.
Talking about Ram Mandir, he said: "The only way to build the temple in Ayodhya is to pass a law in Parliament. We are expecting it from the government that enjoys full majority in Lok Sabha."Togadia launches VHP's health initiative in Nashik.
