Has Ravi Teja's Kanithan remake been shelved?
The remake of Tamil film Kanithan starring Ravi Teja seems to be in troubled waters. We hear that the actor, who was to play a journalist in the film, was irked by delays and the lack of agreement on the remuneration and is planning to walk out of the project.
'Ravi Teja wanted to begin work at the earliest because he was really impressed by the original story. In fact, the film was supposed to go on floors by now.
However, the delay in the project has annoyed Ravi Teja and so he has decided to go ahead with the action film Robinhood to be directed by debutant Chakri,' shares a source close to the actor.
The Kanithan remake was temporarily put on hold as the producer got embroiled in a theatres controversy in Tamil Nadu.
'There has also been some disagreement in relation to the remuneration and that pretty much hammered the final nail in the coffin. So Ravi Teja decided to move on as the producers of Robinhood have also promised him the money that he demanded and the story is in place for them to kick-off immediately,' adds the source.
The film hasn't been officially announced except for director TN Santoshan going on record to say that Ravi Teja has agreed to do the film. Pre-production has been on for a while and even a team was put into place. Now, we just need to wait and see if this film will see the light of the day.
