Favourites had a day to their liking winning six of the seven feature races at the horse racing in Sakhir yesterday.
The biggest winner of the day was Harash, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, as it beat Barracuda by a length to win the Owners Cup, sponsored by Bahrain National Gas Company, Banagas, for locally bred horses which carried the richest prize of BD6,000.
Riyaah was third and First Mate fourth.
Maxwell, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, beat Barreesh by a head to win the Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup, Chairman of Committee of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, for imported horses which carried a cash prize of BD3,000.
Fadhaa was third and Selskar Abbey fourth.
Thorkhill Star, owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle, beat Scottish Storm by two lengths to win the Bahrain National Gas Company Cup (Banagas) which carried a cash prize of BD3,000.
Sir Charlie Kunz was third and Octavia fourth.
Celtic Man, owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by Ali Hasan, was another favourite to oblige when it beat Let Go Ego by half-a-length to win the Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Cup which carried a cash prize of BD2,000.
Pity Cash was third and Langavat fourth.
Al Saqlawy, owned by Al Jasra, trained by Yousif Taher and ridden by Abdulla Faisal, created the only upset of the day beating Obeyan 1620 by a length to win the Al Roudha Cup for Arabian horses which carried a cash prize of BD2,500.
Kuheilan Al Adiyat 1623 was third and Krayaan 1646 fourth.
Gen I Am, owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and ridden by S Sanders, beat Spacelab by a length to win the Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses which carried a cash prize of BD2,000.
Al Fahidi was third nd Fei Kuai fourth.
Tickity Boo, owned by H and R Stables, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Tristan Normand, beat Runway Charlie by a neck to win the Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Cup which carried a cash prize of BD2,000.
Penelope Pitstop was third and Sing The Blues fourth.
