Mailbag: Burbank Coordinating Council holding meeting and a request for Camperships

Share

It is time for Burbank Coordinating Council to install its officers for 2016-17 at the next meeting on Monday, May 2, at noon at Little White Chapel, 1711 N. Avon St, Burbank. All are welcome to attend. Cost for lunch is only $10 and the speaker for the day will be from the Burbank Bob Hope Airport to talk about the proposal for the new terminal. This is important for all of us to hear. If you’d like to attend, make a reservation by calling Doris at (818) 842-6361.

Also, we are still looking for donors to help fund Camperships for low-income children ages 8 to 18 to attend a week of either day camp or resident camps. This is so important to the development of their self esteem and self confidence and providing much needed respite from sometimes very difficult home situations.

Information is available on the website at burbankcoordinatingcouncil.org. Sending $200 would fund one child to camp. Any family in need should get an application at their school office or on the website and send it in right away. We book children on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hope to see many Burbankians on Monday.
