Suicide case: Girls who ended lives were relatives
Ahmedabad: The Riverfront (W) police that is investigating the suicide of two girls who jumped into the river after tying their hands together say that the victims have been identified and that they were relatives. While Juhi, one of the victims, had got married just two months ago, the other victim was her sister-in-law Dhara, also in 20s. Police claimed that they are yet to know the reason for the extreme step.

The bodies were fished out by Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) from near Ellisbridge on Thursday morning. "Juhi's parents, who stay in Ranip, identified her from media reports. This helped us identify both the girls," said a police official.
"Juhi had got married two months ago to a youth who is resident of Dhaner village near Kathlal in Kheda district. Juhi's parents told police that she had recently been home for 10 days and had gone back to her in-laws' place earlier this week. Juhi and Dhara had gone out on pretext of going to Kathlal on April 27 and were missing since then," said an investigator.
