Pune: Advocate Shridhar Pantvaidya of Anandnagar Park Housing Society on Paud Road had kept about 220 gm gold ornaments in his neighbour's house so that he could move houses. But on Thursday, burglars broke into the flat and stole the booty worth Rs 6.15 lakh, including Pantvaidya's gold ornaments.
Aditya Soman of Anandnagar Park has lodged a complaint with the Kothrud police station.

Sub-inspector Prem Waghmore told TOI that Soman works in the finance department of a private firm, while his wife Manjiri works part-time. On Thursday, when Manjiri returned around 2pm she found the lock of the main door and the cupboard broken. "Her gold and silver ornaments and digital camera were not in their place and the pouch containing their neighbour's gold ornaments was missing," he added.
Manjiri told TOI that the suspects also stole her debit card, PAN card and driving licence and branded shoes and the keys of their car.
Pantvaidya said he was moving to a new place in Bavdhan. "As the interiors are being done, I had kept about 220 gm gold ornaments in Soman's house. Unfortunately, it was burgled," Pantvaidya added.
Another flat in the colony was broken into, but nothing was stolen from it and the occupant did not want to lodge a complaint, Pantvaidya said.
Waghmore said there are 23 buildings in Anandnagar Park complex but there are no CCTV cameras installed. There is hardly any security guard for the entire complex," he said. The Kothrud police have sent two letters to the society about the installation of the CCTV cameras. Pantvaidya said due to regular incidents of stealing of petrol from parked motorcycles, the society's members were going to meet in two days to discuss the security. "We are planning to install CCTV cameras soon," he added.
