There's a chance Andre Drummond would shoot free throws underhanded next season

Andre Drummond has a free throw problem.

The Pistons center shot 35.5% from the line this season — an abysmal number for a pro player — and even a high school player to be honest. In January, he set a record when he missed 23 of 36 free throw attempts.

But according to Stan Van Gundy, they haven’t given up.

From the Detroit Free-Press:

Could that even include having the All-Star shoot underhanded?

“I think, right now, everything’s on the table,” Van Gundy said at a season-ending news conference today, alongside general manager Jeff Bower. “It won’t be a unilateral decision. We’ll do some research on some things and come up with what we think is a good approach. Talk to Andre and see what he thinks, because you got to have his buy-in on it and develop an approach going forward.

“We all know it’s an important thing — Andre more than any of us. I think he’s pretty open to anything, but there’s a lot of ways to attack this problem, and we’ll all have a hand in it.”

Please let this happen.
