Emille Stapleton murder: Paul Crosbie jailed for life

A man has been jailed for life over the murder of a 20-year-old in a city-centre fight.

Emille "Millz" Stapleton died after a fight in St Albans, Hertfordshire on 24 October last year.

Following a trial at Cambridge Crown Court, Paul Crosbie, 26, from Camden was convicted of murder and jailed for a minimum term of 23 years.

Police said Crosbie claimed he was acting in self defence, but there was no evidence to suggest he had done so.

"The events of that night resulted in the tragic loss of a young life," said Det Insp Justine Jenkins from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.

"Understandably this has been an extremely difficult time for Emille's family and whilst nothing can bring him back, I hope the sentence given to Paul Crosbie will be of some comfort to them."
