Virbhadra Singh makes over dozen announcements in Ani

In order to provide State of Art  infrastructural  and  teaching  facilities 'Mukhya Mantri Adarsh Vidyalya Yojna', has been launched with an outlay of  Rs. 30 crore which would be applicable  in  two  Senior  Secondary  Schools  of  each  constituency. Addressing well attended public meeting at Ani in district Kullu today, Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh, said that as of now more than 1000 schools were either opened or upgraded besides opening of 24  ITI's  and  two  Engineering  Colleges during last three years.  As many as 29 colleges have been opened in the State mostly in remote and rural areas during present regime in the State during the present government regime, taking the number of colleges to 94.  He said that he was ready to open schools in those areas which were remote enough.He quipped that he was being criticised by the opposition for opening and upgrading schools, adding that he had asked the BJP leaders to give list of schools they want to get closed.  He said that he fails to understand, why the BJP was against opening of schools, adding that voices were raised against by the opposition, whenever he announces opening of schools or colleges.Chief Minister is on two days visit to the outer Seraj area of Ani assembly constituency.

Taking a jibe, he said that it was our fault that we don’t publicise the development works and take it as a service to mankind as opposite to the BJP, which talks about much even on opening of a primary school.He said that 88 kilometres of roads were constructed in Ani constituency during last three years amounting to Rs 18 crore. Besides, two bridges amounting to Rs. 8.70 crore, nine new buildings amounting to Rupees two crore. Besides, 35 kilometres of roads amounting to Rs. 17 crore had been sanctioned, the work on which would be started soon and a proposal had been prepared for road length of 71 kilometres amounting Rs 35 crore in Ani assembly constituency.He said that only two panchayats in Ani were now left without roads and the government would make all efforts to connect them in near future.Chief Minister said that a sum of Rs. 1080 crore had been spent on providing subsidised electricity to the domestic consumers of the State during the last three years. “I can say without doubt, that all the habitations had been provided electricity throughout the state”, he said.

India is a secular country, and Congress believes in taking people of all regions and religion together and not dividing them on the basis of caste, religion and region. 

The people of India were swayed by the ‘Modi Wave’, during Lok Sabha elections, by tall claims of BJP that a sum of Rs 15 Lakh each would be deposited in the account of each citizen. But, what the people got, nothing.  One should make promises which could be fulfilled. “I make promises for the things I can do and deliver”, he said.Chief Minister also announced girls hostel to be constructed in government degree college Ani at Haripur to house around 300 girl students.The Chief Minister also announced construction of a bridge from Baadi to Napthan in Gram Panchayat Taluna. Announced Primary Health Centre at Shawad and Lhuri. He also announced starting commerce classes at Government Senior Secondary School, Lhuri and upgradation of Government Middle Schools Nimla and Nagan to High Schools. Announced   upgradation of Government Middle School Bhallan in Banjar constituency to High schools.  He also announced new primary school at  Dhogri Mor (Gujjar Basti),  veterinary dispensary at Nagan. 

Other announcements made by Chief Minister are 

• Opening of Bus Depot at Ani

• Opening Fire station at Ani

• Ani sub-tehsil to be upgraded as Tehsil

• Opening of Government college at Nirmand.

He also Upgraded Community Health Centre to Civil Hospital to 50 bed.

Earlier, he inaugurated the 66 KV, Electric sub station at Haripur-Nagan completed with an outlay of Rs. 16 crore. This would facilitate 43 panchayats which include 32 panchayats of Kullu district and 11 Panchayats of Karsog sub-division of district Mandi. It will also benefit a population of 1.05 lakh of 926 villages  besides  minimising transmission and distribution losses and solving low voltage problem.  He also inaugurated the Lift water supply scheme Haripur-Nagan completed with an outlay of Rs 51 lakh.Ayurveda and co-operative Minister, Shri Karan Singh said that Chief Minister was the only leader in the country who was easily available to the common man. He said that out of 50 doctors in the Ayurveda department, one doctor would be deployed at Ani. He announced a sum of rupees three lakhs for construction of Hall in GSSS Lhuri.

MLA, Ani  Shri Khub Ram welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion. He thanked the Chief Minister for the announcements made and also listed the developments of the area. The MLA placed several demands of the area including Bus depot at Ani and upgradation of Sub-Tehsil Ani to Tehsil. Shri Khub Ram also blamed the BJP for taking credit of the development works undertaken by the present government.  Similarly, Chairman APMC, Kullu Shri Upender Kant Mishra also addressed the gathering and demanded college for Nirmand. He also thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating projects worth crores in outer Seraj area in a single day.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Nand Lal, DCC President Kullu Shri Budhi Singh Thakur, DCC President Mandi Shri Puran Chand Thakur, Vice-Chairman, HPSIDC, Shri Atul Sharma, Member, BoD, MILKFED, Shri Kulwant Kashyap, Chairperson, Mahila Congress, Kullu, Ms. Vidya Negi, Member, Zila Parishad Ms. Mamta Thakur, BCC, President Shri Uttam Thakur, Chairman, HIMBUNKAL, Shri Tehal Singh Rana, Senior congress leader, Shri Maan Singh Thakur, Deputy Commissioner, Shri Hans Raj Chauhan, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
