IPL 2016: Vizag ‘home’ venue for RPS and MI ; Final shifted to Bengaluru

In the other shifting of venues, Bengaluru will host Qualifier 1 and the Final while Delhi will host Qualifier 2 and the Eliminator. Earlier, Bengaluru was the host the Qualifier 1, Pune the Qualifier 2 and the Eliminator with the final to be hosted by Mumbai (Wankhede).

In a change of timings too, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to be played on 15th May will commence at 4PM while Mumbai Indians (MI) versus Delhi Daredevils (DD) to be played on the same day will start at 8PM (both times in IST).

In further developments, Jaipur which was being considered as a venue despite protests, has been ruled out.

“Both the IPL franchises have expressed satisfaction and are keen to embrace Vizag as their home ground for the upcoming matches,” said the statement released by BCCI.
