12-car EMU train services begin on Harbour line of Central Railway

Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) The 12-car EMU train services on Harbour line of Central Railway (CR) commenced today with the first train leaving at 0600 hours from Vashi to Wadala.
The first 12-car rake was driven by Motorman A M Bhimshekhar and its Guard was Arvind Kumar.
In the history of Harbour line, the first EMU train service was introduced on February three, 1925, with four cars leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (then Victoria Terminus) to Kurla. Eventually the number of cars increased from four to eight to nine and now 12.
