The railways has earned Rs 4.02 crore during the 804th Urs of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty in Ajmer in the first week of April.The earning this year is 6.87 % than last year.

The railways has earned Rs 4.02 crore during the 804th Urs of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty in Ajmer in the first week of April. The earning this year is 6.87 % than last year. The railways earned Rs 2.40 lakh from platform ticket and Rs 17.53 lakhs during ticket checking. The railways run special train in this Urs for Pakistan devotees and the railways got the feedback that those devotees were satisfied from the services.
"The railways also provided special arrangements on the platform as a large number of devotees came from railways. These services were cleanliness, catering, security and drinking water arrangements," said Vijay Singh assistant commercial manager and also fair officer.
Junior engineers, chemists promoted: As many as 119 junior engineers have been promoted as assistant engineers and nine junior chemists have been promoted as chemists on the recommendation of promotion committee of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam limited (RVUN). A total of 131 employees were promoted in RVUN. The promoted employees will be posted at power stations as per the existing policy, said RVUN chairman and managing director NM Mathur.
Dungarpur to be 1st organic district: Agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini on Thursday announced to develop Dungarpur as first organic district of the state by promoting organic farming in the district. Saini, who was in Dungarpur, said that it will be developed on the lines of organic Sikkim, which was announced as complete organic state.
Central team in state to assess drought situation: A three-member team of Government of India on Thursday reached Jodhpur to assess the crop damage due to hailstones in the event of untimely rains. The team also sought details of the drought-like situation from the concerned officials. Sources informed that the team would visit Jaisalmer on Friday and Bikaner district on Saturday.
German tourist withdraws complaint: A German woman tourist in Pushkar, who registered a complaint against police constables here on Thursday alleging they had physically abused her, has withdrawn her complaint in the evening. Sources informed that the German tourist was roaming with a local guy Mohd Farooque on the outskirts of the town when two police constables intercepted them and searched their bags suspecting drugs.

Panic grips Udaipur after gas leakage: Panic gripped Udaipur city on Thursday evening for a few hours after an incident of ammonia gas leakage took place around 7 p.m. in an ice-factory situated in Sunderwas area. The gas leakage from the ice factory being located in densely populated residential area caused minor health troubles to the citizens living nearby as they complained of uneasiness, nausea, dizziness, burning sensation in the eyes and breathing problems. Though no casualty was reported, ambulances and firemen were made to rush to the spot.and authorities called for an immediate evacuation of the area as a safety measure.
Continuous buzzing and sirens of the ambulances on the roads kept the commuters on alert. The ice-factory road was sealed and commutation remained impaired till late here. Some 7 to 8 women were reportedly admitted in the hospital while many people took shelter at their relatives and friends homes for the night. Collector Rohit Gupta, SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal and officials of the municipal corporation were at the spot to supervise the rescue work.He said that there are 2.5 lakh farmers in the district. He also directed the agriculture department officials to prepare an action plan.
