MCC retain twister trophy

CRICKET Left-arm spinner Ganesh Aiwe bowled with tremendous guile (4/18) as defending champions MCC (Blue) defeated MCC (Red) by seven wickets in the final of the MCC-Pro40 League at the Oval Maidan yesterday. MCC (Red), opting to bat first, made a mess of their decision, as none of the top batsmen could click. They were bowled out for 101. Chasing the target, MCC (Blue)’s openers skipper Mukesh Gupta (n.o. 30) and Managir Gupta (44) put on 60 runs, which paved the way for their easy win as they were home with seven wickets to spare. Kalpana Poddar, director of Twisters, gave away the trophies.
