NAGPUR: Promising city shuttler Malvika Bansod excelled in the PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship Season 2 National Finals which concluded at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi on Thursday.
The annual badminton tournament for the juniors is approved by the Badminton Association of India (BAI).
Southpaw Malvika stormed into the finals of the U-15 and U-17 girls singles but had to be satisfied with the runners-up spot.

Aakarshi Kashyap of Chhattisgarh bagged twin crown in the U-15 and U-17 girls' singles category.
In the U-15 girls singles section, Aakarshi beat second seed Malvika 21-13, 21-13 to win the title.
It was a double celebration for Aakarshi over Malavika as she defeated her same opponent in the U-17 final with a 21-19, 21-23, 21-18 score-line.
Fifteen-year-old Malvika is a student of Centre Point School, Dabha and trains under Kiran Makode. She received a cash prize of Rs 60,000.
Sara Foundation director Ashish Shrivastava and top BAI officials distributed the prizes.
