Madurai: The central government side on Thursday told the Madurai bench of the Madras high court that the government has initiated diplomatic action to rescue 62 fishermen, who have been under illegal detention in Saudi Arabia.
When the case filed by Ramanathapuram-based advocate G Thirumurugan came up for hearing before the division bench of Justices A Selvam and B Gokuldas, the assistant solicitor general told that the officials met the fishermen and have sought three months for further action.
Accepting it, the court adjourned the case to the first week of July.
