Madurai: Former MLA S K Murugavel Rajan quit the former union minister G K Vasan-led-TMC on Thursday, a year after his joining.
He condemned G K Vasan, MDMK leader Vaiko and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol Thirumalavan by saying they failed to give due weightage to people belonging to the scheduled caste to be represented in the forthcoming polls.

He also said the DMDK-PWF-TMC alliance was not an alternative to the two Dravidian parties - AIADMK and DMK, and that either of them would only win the election.
"TMC leader Gnanadesikan took us to Vasan who had assured that people from the scheduled caste will be given share in power. But, he was unable to get MLA seats for us. Gnanadesikan tried his level best for us till Wednesday, but could not succeed.
Thus, we decided to quit the party," said Murugavel Rajan. He added his team would work to defeat the DMDK-PWF-TMC alliance in the election.
