Chandigarh: Delhi chief minister and convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said it was not a natural choice but some divine power behind his emergence in politics. He even went to the extent of comparing himself to Pandavas, who had to fight after denial of their legitimate right to throne by Kauravas.
After reforming Delhi, now his party's target was to make Punjab a blissful and drug-free state where farmers would not think of committing suicide, he said.

Kejriwal was in Chandigarh on Thursday to attend a function organized by the bar council of Punjab and Haryana to distribute advocate's licence to fresh law graduates. In his 30 minutes address to new entrants in legal profession, Kejriwal narrated the sequence of events and "alaukik shaktiyan" (divine powers) that forced him to join politics for the public.
Terming April 4, 2011 as the day which changed his course of life, Kejriwal said he along with Manish Sisodia and Anna Hazare had announced to launch a protest at Jantar Mantar for lokpal bill and was literally scared if 500 people would come to attend their protest.
Kejriwal said it was a miracle that their small protest between April 4 and 9 in 2011 and the arrest of Anna Hazare led to largest revolution in the country after Independence. "We continued our demand for lokpal bill, but they kept deferring it. They (political parties) even challenged us to contest polls, for which we were not prepared," he added.
"Hamari chhoti si demand thee lokpal bill ki, par unhone nahin maani. Vaise hi jaise ki Kauravon ne Pandavon ki sirf paanch gaon dene ki baat tak nahin mani thee. Tabhi laga kuchh alaukik ho raha hai, jaise ki paap ka ghada bharne pe upar wala apna chamtkar dikhata hai (We had a small demand for lokpal bill, but they (the then central government) did not accept it. Just like the Kauravas, who had refused to give even an inch of land to Pandvas on their demand for five villages. Then I felt something divine happening, almost like God's miracle when someone's cup of sins overflows)," said Kejriwal while narrating his journey into politics.

He added that they decided to contest assembly polls in Delhi and managed to get 28 seats in first attempt. "We did not have any money to contest elections, but nature was working its miracles and people started waking up from deep slumber and we won 67 out of 70 seats, which was highest ever mandate to any political party in the world," Kejriwal added.
Highlighting certain major works, especially health services in every locality in Delhi during his party's one-year tenure in Delhi, Kejriwal claimed that US, Germany and China were talking about the work done by his government in such short span and he had big plans to start it in Punjab.
