Snarls across Noida as Rajput outfit hits streets for job quota

Noida: The Noida-Greater Noida expressway witnessed major traffic snarls on Thursday, as Kshatriya Sena took out a car and bike rally to raise their demand for 35% reservation in central and state government jobs, as well as political representation for the Rajput community.
Traffic was also disrupted at Lt. Vijayakant Marg, Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera (DSC) and Barola areas as over 150 vehicles, carrying members of the Rajput community, took to the streets with slogans like "Jai Kshatriya" and "Jo Kshatriya ke heet ki baat karega, vahi desh pe raaj karega".
The rally continued to the district collectorate in Surajpur, where a group of representatives handed over a memorandum to SDM Subhash Yadav, who said it would be duly forwarded to the CM's office.

"We're not trying to seize somebody else's share, we're demanding our right from the central and state governments. If reservation is to be given to one community, let it be there for all communities," Kshatriya Sena president Surendra Chouhan said. The outfit will submit a similar memorandum to PM Narendra Modi, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and President Pranab Mukherjee.
"The Rajput community has sacrificed a lot for the nation. We've a lot of representation in the armed forces and other defence organisations, but we have not been getting our due. We'll now start a district-level campaign to gather support for our cause," general secretary Surendra Singh told TOI.

"If a Kshatriya wants to fight elections, he finds that most seats are reserved, so they cannot participate in those. But if the seat is general, representatives of other castes can also fight. This discrimination will not last," reads the memorandum.
"This rally is merely symbolic and we will now take our protest to other states including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand as well," Kshatriya Sena National President Surendra Chauhan said. He also called upon the Jats, Gujjars and Yadavs to stop seeking reservation by calling themselves "backward castes".
He said that the outfit will take out a massive rally at Ramlila Maidan of the national capital in October.
