Bandon monster blitz thrills 550 pupils in West Cork

Bandon RFC recently held a monster primary school blitz attended by 550 boys and girls from West Cork.

Participating schools included Coppeen NS, Laragh NS, Crossmahon NS, Gaelscoil Innishannon NS, Desertserges NS, Bandon Bridge NS, Ballinadee NS, Castlelack NS, Gurranes NS, Cloughduv NS, Newcestown NS, Scoil Phádraig Naofa Bandon and Kilbrittian NS.

Munster Rugby would like to thank all the volunteers for their contributions towards the success of the event and the smooth running of the matches with 32 pitches in operation at one time.

Assisting Munster's community rugby officers were members from Bandon RFC, school teachers and the 40 transition year students from Bandon Grammar School who assisted with refereeing.

All participating schools were presented with a 'Play Rugby' equipment pack which contains six rugby balls, cones, bibs, games and much more to encourage the students to continue playing rugby during recreation time at school.
