Election Commission to visit State

Chief Election Commissioner Nazim Zaidi and Election Commissioners A.K. Joti and Om Prakash Rawat will visit the State for two days from May 1 to review the preparedness for the May 16 Assembly elections.

They will reach the State capital on Sunday, official sources said. They will hold meetings with the Chief Electoral Officer, Kerala, E.K. Majhi and other bureaucrats.

The Commission has called for a meeting of the District Collectors and District Police Chiefs on May 2 in the capital to review the arrangements and security for the elections.

As per the itinerary, the Commission is visiting only the State capital during the two-day visit to Kerala.
