81 file nominations in Vellore

A total of 81 candidates filed their nominations in Vellore district on Thursday. This included 12 independents. School Education Minister K.C. Veeramani, who is seeking re-election from Jolarpet constituency, also filed his nomination.

The number of nominations received (constituency-wise): Arakkonam-5, Sholinghur-8, Katpadi-4, Ranipet-3, Arcot-5, Vellore-7, Anaicut-6, Kilvaithinankuppam-5, Gudiyatham-7, Vaniyambadi-9, Ambur-8, Jolarpet-4 and Tirupattur-10.

Tiruvannamalai

In Tiruvannamalai, eight AIADMK candidates filed their nomination papers.

The party’s official candidates M. Dinakaran (Chengam), Perumal Nagar K. Rajan (Tiruvannamalai), K. Selvamani (Keel Pennathur), V. Panneerselvam (Kalasapakkam), M. Murugan (Polur), Sevur S. Ramachandran (Arani), Dusi K. Mohan (Cheyyar) and V. Meganathan (Vandavasi) filed papers.

Substitutes for main candidates of the party have also filed their papers. Candidates of Gokulam Makkal Katchi, Nam Tamilar Katchi and PMK also filed their papers.

The Number of candidates who filed papers in each constituency: Chengam (5), Tiruvannamalai (5), Keel Pennathur (2), Kalasapakkam (8), Polur (8), Arani (8), Cheyyar (6) and Vandavasi (5).

In total, 47 candidates filed 73 nominations in eight constituencies of Tiruvannamalai district on Thursday.
