Industries respond

April 29, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Immediate response to the SOS call to fight fire at VSEZ by several industries in the neighbourhood — RINL, HPCL, NTPC Simhadri and Aurobindo Pharma in Srikakulam, and other industrial units of North Andhra — could prevent damage to 14 tanks storing various material at Biomax Fuels Limited. Some industrial units contributed foam and rushed their fire engines to fight the fire.

“After receiving the message, fire crew of the CISF unit at NTPC Simhadri rushed to the spot along with foam tender. On reaching the spot, it noticed that fire broke out in the bio-diesel raw material storage tanks,” a NTPC release stated on Thursday.
