School buses to be tested in summer
Nagpur: The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court headed by Justice Bhushan Gavai and Justice Sapna Joshi has directed the state’s school education department to form school bus committees at the institute’s level. State transport commissioner Shyam Wardhane told the high court that his department will conduct fitness tests for all school buses. Since summer vacations are going on, the buses won’t be plying, thus giving ample time for the tests to be conducted as per the guidelines issued in 2011.
The transport commissioner assured the court that no unsafe school buses will be allowed to ply on roads.
HC asks govt to file reply within a week on TET status
The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has directed the state government to file a reply within a week on whether they will be holding the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) on May 18 or not. Since the first TET held had been cancelled due to an alleged paper leak, a petition had been filed to grant of stay to the examination of Paper-1 of Mah TET during the pendency of the petition. The petitioner argued that if Maharashtra State Council of Examination (Pune) is allowed to hold Paper -1 on May 18 in lieu of the cancelled paper, they may declare result of Paper-2 during the pendency of petition. The petitioner said that declaration of results will be an ‘irreparable loss’ as they will score less marks than the candidate who got the copy of leak papers.
