Without Ulis, Calipari vows to 'get the body right' for next season

College basketball's offseason provides players with a chance to work on their conditioning, to get their physiques in tip-top shape for the next run at a title.

We don't often hear about a coach's training regimen. But when Kentucky's John Calipari posts a video of himself on an elliptical machine, people pay attention.

Calipari, in between glances at footage from his team's 2012 national title, said a spectator to his workout is his motivation. (Let's also take a moment to note that Calipari's hair keeps its perfect form throughout the video.)

Former Kentucky guard Tyler Ulis -- who announced in early April that he would hire an agent, turn pro and not return to Kentucky -- looked on as Calipari pressed on. Calipari said Ulis "coached our team" and that without Ulis there next season, Calipari will need to work harder.

"I'm trying to get my mind-set right, my body right, because it's gonna be war time," Calipari said. "I don't have an assistant coach who thinks he was the head coach, in Tyler Ulis."

Calipari said he won't be producing a series of before and after photos, but it will be interesting to see what the new and improved coach looks like when he starts stalking the sideline this fall.
