Madhuri Dixit talks about her husband's two left feet

Keeping with the norm that unlike poles attract, she says her husband Dr Nene, is quite the opposite when it comes to dancing.

Madhuri Dixit Nene starts blushing when informed about filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s comment that she is a superlative actress and dancer. Says Madhuri with all modesty, “Acting is my first passion. I am a trained Kathak dancer and I have also learned Bollywood, hip-hop and other dances as well. I don’t know if I am a good actor but if Sanjay Leela Ji ne kaha hai toh…maybe I am a good actor!!”

Keeping with the norm that unlike poles attract, she says that her husband, Dr Nene, is quite the opposite when it comes to dancing. “I teach fresh dancers through my website as well. Guess what? I have shot a video of Dr Nene, who does not know dancing nor does he have an inclination of learning how to dance. But to enable shy dancers to learn, I have put my husband in the category of non-dancers.” What do her kids want to do when they grow up?

“That’s a million dollar question… I keep asking myself, yeh dono kya banna pasand karenge? I don’t know about acting and dancing, but recently, after watching Jungle Book, I heard them discussing the story, the dialogues and also the performances in the film.

My elder son was especially pointing out some good instances and dialogues. My younger one is more inclined towards science. But whatever profession they choose, we will definitely support them whole heartedly.”

Asked whether she would be writing her autobiography, Madhuri says, “Film abhi baki hai dost… Yes, eventually I will do that.”
