SYLVESTER Stallone is headed to the small screen where he will to play a mafia don in a TV adaptation of the final book written by The Godfather author.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the Oscar nominee has signed on to Omerta, the final book in the author’s mafia trilogy that started with The Godfather and The Last Don.
Stallone is expected to play the mafia head Raymonde Aprile, who is at the centre of the story. The Magnificent Seven’s Antoine Fuqua is directing.

Stallone of course made a name for himself in movies such as Rocky, Rambo and The Expendables franchises.
However he has also earned more Golden Raspberry (Razzie) awards then any other actor. Stallone has been nominated more than 30 times and won eight of the awards.
However he is having something of a career revival after coming very close to snagging an Academy Award for his 2015 turn as Rocky Balboa in Ryan Coogler’s Creed.
While he missed out on the Oscar to Bridge of Spies’ Mary Rylance, Stallone did receive the praise of critics for his acting.
